Welder Inverter Paton MultiPRO 250 (15-4) MIG/MAG MMA/TIG HF – basic data

The digital inverter-based Multiprocess Welding Machine PATON™ MultiPRO 250-15-4 merges versatility with high energy efficiency, making it suitable for professional applications. It supports various welding methods – SMAW (stick electrode), GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW (with or without shielding gas), and GTAW LIFT (TIG) – and offers an adjustable current range from 12 to 250 A, allowing precise parameter settings for a wide array of tasks, whether in a workshop or on a construction site. Model ProMIG-250-15-4 accommodates coated electrodes from 1.6–6.0 mm, welding wires from 0.6–1.2 mm, and tungsten electrodes 1.0–3.2 mm.

The robust 4-roller wire feeder, compatible with 5, 15, or 18 kg spools, ensures stable and precise feeding, even for highly malleable aluminium, facilitating efficient welding of lighter materials. The simple polarity switch (DCEP/DCEN) enables flexible setup for MIG/MAG or FCAW processes. Meanwhile, a universal EURO connector and modular design enhance user comfort and operational safety.

In MMA and TIG modes, welding can be done using only the power source, removing the need to move the entire wire feeder assembly. Additionally, the machine is built to operate reliably with generators and long extension cables, offering full power output and stable performance in any environment. To improve GTAW performance, the device uses a high-frequency (HF) arc-start mechanism, providing stable and efficient arc ignition while minimising the risk of tungsten electrode contamination. The advanced digital control allows precise adjustments of welding voltage, shielding gas pre-flow time, and wire feed speed, making the machine perfectly adaptable to varied materials and job requirements.

Functions and features of the Paton MultiPRO 250 (15-4) MIG/MAG MMA/TIG HF welder inverter

GASLESS WELDING FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE
All PATON MIG/MAG welding machines are adapted for welding with self-serve wire. Such welding, as opposed to the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, is carried out without shielding gas – however, it requires a special welding wire. The wire produces its own shielding, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-shielded wire suitable for PATON welding machines can be purchased here – 5 kg spools of wire will fit all wire feeders.

MULTIPRO SERIES – BUILT-IN IONIZER

The MultiPro series welders have a built-in HF IONIZER, which enables contactless arc ignition in TIG welding. This extension is a function of the TIG handle control button. The handle button control cable connects directly to this module. When the control button on the torch is pressed, the control signal is sent to the welding machine controller, which develops the function of the previous t1 gas flow for cleaning the weld area before welding and with a delay gives the signal to switch the welding machine on – thus enabling TIG welding with contactless arc ignition.

SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE CONTROL

Paton MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of brazing thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control enables to optimize the characteristics of the arc depending on the thickness of the component to be welded. This function is necessary to change the speed of the current flow when changing the arc voltage. The thinner the element to be welded with MIG/MAG, the higher the inductance should be (soft arc – less fusion), for thicker elements the opposite (hard arc – more fusion).
