Welder Inverter Paton MultiPRO-270 (15-4) MIG/MAG MMA/TIG HF 400V – basic data
The digital inverter-based MIG Multiprocess Welding Machine PATON™ MultiPRO 270-15-4 offers versatility and high energy efficiency for professional applications. It supports welding methods such as SMAW (stick electrode), GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW (with or without shielding gas), and GTAW HF & LIFT (TIG). Featuring an adjustable current range from 12 to 270 A, it provides precise control for diverse tasks, in both workshop and field settings. The MultiPRO 270-15-4 model accommodates coated electrodes of 1.6–6.0 mm, welding wires of 0.6–1.2 mm, and tungsten electrodes of 1.0–3.2 mm.
A robust 4-roller wire feeder, compatible with spool weights of 5, 15, or 18 kg, ensures stable and accurate feeding, including highly ductile aluminium, facilitating efficient welding of lightweight materials. The simple polarity switch (DCEP/DCEN) enables flexible configuration for MIG/MAG or FCAW processes. Meanwhile, the universal EURO connector and modular design enhance operator comfort and safety.
In MMA and TIG modes, welding can be performed solely with the power source, eliminating the need to transport the entire wire feeder assembly. Furthermore, this machine is designed for reliable operation with generators and long extension cables, delivering full power and stable performance under any conditions. To improve GTAW capabilities, the device employs a high-frequency (HF) arc start mechanism, offering a stable and efficient arc ignition while minimising tungsten electrode contamination risk. Advanced digital control allows for precise adjustments to welding voltage, shielding gas pre-flow, and wire feed speed, ensuring the equipment can be ideally tailored to various materials and job requirements.
Functions and features of the Paton MultiPRO 270 (15-4) MIG/MAG MMA/TIG HF 400V welder inverter
GASLESS WELDING FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE
All PATON MIG/MAG welding machines are adapted for welding with self-source wire. Such welding, as opposed to the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, is performed without the use of shielding gas – however, this requires the use of a special welding wire. The wire produces its own shielding, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-shielded wire suitable for PATON welding machines can be purchased here – 5 kg spools of wire will fit all wire feeders.
MULTIPRO SERIES – BUILT-IN IONIZER
The MultiPro series welders have a built-in HF IONIZER, which enables contactless arc ignition in TIG welding. This extension is a function of the TIG handle control button. The handle button control cable connects directly to this module. When the control button on the torch is pressed, the control signal is sent to the welding machine controller, which develops the function of the previous t1 gas flow for cleaning the weld area before welding and with a delay gives the signal to switch the welding machine on – thus enabling TIG welding with contactless arc ignition.
SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE CONTROL
Paton MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of brazing thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control enables to optimize the characteristics of the arc depending on the thickness of the component to be welded. This function is necessary to change the speed of the current flow when changing the arc voltage. The thinner the element to be welded with MIG/MAG, the higher the inductance should be (soft arc – less fusion), for thicker elements the opposite (hard arc – more fusion).
