MIG Welding Machine PATON™ ProMIG–350–15–4 – basic information

The digital inverter-based MIG Welding Machine PATON™ ProMIG-350-15-4 offers versatility and high energy efficiency for professional use. It supports SMAW (covered electrode), GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW (with or without shielding gas) and GTAW LIFT (TIG). With a current range of 14 to 350 A, you can precisely set the parameters for workshop or on-site tasks. The ProMIG-350-15-4 model handles covered electrodes from 1.6 to 6.0 mm, welding wires from 0.6 to 1.4 mm, and tungsten electrodes from 1.0 to 4.0 mm, making it ideal for series production and steel construction in heavy industry.

A robust 4-roller wire feeder, compatible with 5, 15 or 18 kg spools, ensures stable and accurate wire feed, particularly for highly deformable aluminium. The polarity-switch feature (DCEP/DCEN) allows flexible configuration for MIG/MAG or FCAW processes. The universal EURO connector and modular design increase user comfort and enhance operational safety.

In MMA and TIG modes, welding can be performed using only the power source, eliminating the need to move the entire feeder system. The machine is also designed to operate with generators and long extension cables, maintaining full performance under various field conditions. Advanced digital controls permit precise adjustment of welding voltage, gas flow time, and wire feed speed, adapting the equipment to a variety of materials and job requirements. This model also proves valuable in the chemical and food industries, where high-quality welds in aluminium and stainless steel are crucial.

Functions and features of the PATON™ ProMIG 350 (15-4) 400V welder inverter

GAS-FREE FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE
All PATON™  MIG/MAG welders are adapted for welding with self-consuming wire. Such welding, as opposed to the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, takes place without shielding gas – however, this requires a special welding wire. Such wire produces its own shielding, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-shielded wire suitable for PATON welders can be purchased here – spools of 5 kg wire will fit all wire feeders.

SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE ADJUSTMENT

PATON™ MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of brazing, thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control allows the arc characteristics to be optimised according to the thickness of the component to be welded. This function is necessary to change the speed of the current flow when changing the arc voltage. The thinner the workpiece to be welded using MIG/MAG, the greater the inductance should be (soft arc – less fusion), for thick workpieces the opposite (hard arc – more fusion).

PULSE FUNCTION IN ALL METHODS

– PULSE in TIG welding – full control of heat input into the material – a great feature for welding stainless steel and acid-resistant steel,

– PULSE in MMA – easier transfer of material from electrode to weld pool, better quality of welded joint,

Main advantages of the PATON™ ProMIG 350 15-4 400V welder inverter

  • European production
  • Electronic thermal protection system to protect all heat generating components from overheating
  • Reliability thanks to IGBT technology
  • Possibility to work with long extension cables as well as with a generator
  • Pulsed current welding in any welding method
  • Improved arc glow stability
  • 2T, 4T mode change function, gas purge from feeder function
  • In addition to protection against mains voltage surges and dips, the equipment has a stabilisation system for operation during longer phase-to-phase voltage fluctuations and allows correct operation for the voltage range from 320V to 440V
  • Two times less electricity consumption compared to traditional sources
  • Optimum penetration and correct stitch shape regardless of welding position
