MIG Welding Machine PATON™ ProMIG–350–WK–15–4 – basic information

The digital, inverter-based MIG Welding Machine PATON™ ProMIG-350-WK-15-4, equipped with a dedicated cart and cooling system, combines versatility with high energy efficiency for professional applications. It supports SMAW (covered electrode), GMAW (MIG/MAG), FCAW (with or without shielding gas) and GTAW LIFT (TIG). With an adjustable current range of 14 to 350 A, it can be precisely tuned to suit a variety of materials and thicknesses, whether in a workshop or on a construction site. This model works with both liquid-cooled and air-cooled torches, handling covered electrodes (1.6–6.0 mm), welding wires (0.6–1.4 mm) and tungsten electrodes (1.0–4.0 mm), making it ideal for serial production and steel fabrication in heavy industry.

A robust four-roller wire feeding mechanism with full drive, compatible with spools of 5, 15 or 18 kg, ensures stable and accurate wire feeding — even with soft aluminium, making it well-suited for such welding tasks. Fitted with wheels for easy relocation, it also supports a communication cable up to 30 metres, increasing operational flexibility in large areas such as industrial halls or construction zones. Rapid polarity switching (DCEP/DCEN) allows quick adaptation to different welding processes. The EURO connector enables fast torch exchange, and the modular design enhances safety and user comfort.

Liquid cooling systems, such as the PATON Cooler 7, are essential when welding at high currents (above 300 A), ensuring effective cooling of crucial torch components (handle, torch head, power cable) according to the equipment’s construction. The machine is also designed to work efficiently with generators and long extension leads, providing full power and reliability in various conditions. Advanced digital control allows precise setting of welding voltage, shielding gas flow time, and wire feed speed, adapting the device to multiple materials and operational requirements.

Functions and features of the Paton ProMIG 350 (15-4) 400V welder inverter

GAS-FREE FUNCTION – WELDING WITH SELF-CONSUMING WIRE

All PATON™ MIG/MAG welders are suitable for welding with self-consuming wire. Such welding, as opposed to the traditional MIG/MAG welding process, takes place without shielding gas – however, this requires a special welding wire. Such wire produces its own shielding, which helps to protect the welding arc. Self-shielded wire suitable for PATON welders can be purchased here – spools of 5 kg wire will fit all wire feeders.

SOLDERING – INDUCTANCE ADJUSTMENT

PATON™ MIG/MAG welders of the Standard and PRO series have the possibility of brazing, thanks to the function of changing the inductance in three stages. The inductance control allows the arc characteristics to be optimised according to the thickness of the component to be welded. This function is necessary to change the speed of the current flow when changing the arc voltage. The thinner the workpiece to be welded using MIG/MAG, the higher the inductance should be (soft arc – less fusion), for thick workpieces the opposite (hard arc – more fusion).

PULSE FUNCTION IN ALL METHODS

– PULSE in TIG welding – full control of heat input into the material – a great feature for welding stainless steel and acid-resistant steel,

– PULSE in MMA – easier transfer of material from electrode to weld pool, better quality of welded joint,
