Welding Cooler PATON™ Cooler–8–S

The PATON Cooler 8-S is a cooling unit designed for effective heat dissipation with an integrated flow sensor for efficiently cooling TIG and plasma welding handles with coolant.

The Cooler 8-S is characterized by its large capacity, accommodating up to 8 liters of coolant, and high efficiency, enabling the transport of liquid up to 10 meters high and a flow rate of 6.5 l/min. The unit weighs 16 kg (unfilled) and is equipped with quick connectors for easy connection of cooling hoses. The robust construction allows the device to be used as an independent cooling block or as a base for larger welding inverters. Additionally, dedicated wheels can be mounted, enhancing the device’s mobility.

Equipped with an 8-pin connector, the PATON Cooler 8-S is designed to work in conjunction with the TIG AC/DC ProTIG-200 inverter. Cooling units of this type are an essential part of the equipment during welding processes with high current intensities (from 140 A upwards). The PATON Cooler 8-S ensures effective heat dissipation from the key components of the welding handle, such as the inside of the handle, the head, or the power cable, significantly affecting the reliability and durability of the equipment.

The use of water as a coolant is strongly discouraged, as the mineral salts contained in it deposit on the inner walls of the cooling system, forming an insulating layer which significantly reduces the cooling efficiency. Over time, this can also reduce the diameter of the pipes, limiting the flow of liquid and leading to potential failures of the TIG welding handle.

It is recommended to use ethylene glycol or dedicated cooling liquids for welding equipment, such as BTC-20 NF, BTC-50 NF, produced by the German company ABICOR BINZEL. These liquids have high thermal conductivity and provide adequate lubrication for components such as pumps in cooling units, thereby extending their lifespan.
